赛事简介
“外研社杯”全国中学生外语素养大赛是由北京外国语大学主办、外语教学与研究出版社承办的赛事。比赛以全面培养学生的核心素养为理念，设置了主线清晰、内容多元的赛事体系，突出学术权威性与活动丰富性，旨在帮助学生成长为热爱学习、勇于挑战、真正具备国际竞争力的优秀人才。
比赛成绩
八十中共有23名学生在北京地区决赛中斩获一、二、三等奖！
其中，高一学生蒋晰如在全国总决赛中斩获“全国特等奖”，高二学生徐畅、王语柔获“全国一等奖”，李昱辰获“全国二等奖”。在比赛过程中，从认真准备到精彩呈现，学生们展现了英语学习方面和综合能力的顶尖实力！

Holding this grand prize trophy from the FLTRP Cup National Final feels... surreal. It’s heavy, but what carries far more weight is the meaning behind it. This achievement is not mine alone; behind it lies the unwavering support and trust of countless wonderful people. My deepest thanks first go to Ms. Cao, the wonderful English teacher from No. 80 High School, whose careful guidance, constant encouragement, and unshakable faith have been my strongest support. I’m also grateful to all my friends and family, who cheered me on every step of the way.
As a 10th grader winning the National Final against so many talented and elder peers from across China, this honor feels especially significant. It's a powerful testament that dedication and hard work, regardless of age, can lead to extraordinary results. Holding this trophy isn't just about winning a contest. It feels like proof that every bit of effort I put in was totally worth it.
Looking back, this win wasn’t smooth. There were nights I stayed up revising my speech until my eyes stung, or moments when I watched other contestants speak with such confidence that I lacked confidence myself. But those hard times taught me that resilience isn’t about never messing up. It’s about taking a deep breath, even when your voice shakes, and trying again. This trophy represents conquering those doubts as much as it does mastering English.
Winning the FLTRP Cup Grand Prize is a milestone, not a finish line. It has shown me the power of perseverance and self-belief. This experience has ignited a deeper passion for English, and I am more committed than ever to keep learning, improving my fluency, and exploring the power of language further.

Winning this prize isn’t just about the honor—it’s also about everything I’ve learned throughout the preparation process. From starting completely from scratch, to writing my draft, practicing it over and over, and finally presenting it , every step has helped me grow. Along the way, I’ve improved in many areas, like expressing my ideas clearly and staying flexible when unexpected things happen.

After advancing to the first round of “THE 21ST FLTRP CUP NATIONAL ENGLISH COMPETITION”, I “had to” burn the midnight to polish my speech for the semi-finals, battling procrastination. During this time, my vocabulary and knowledge quietly grew. Although the final semi-final results weren’t ideal due to nervousness, I believe imperfection is also a precious fragment on the road to seeking perfection, and I will carry these fragments forward and continue the race of my life.

Beijing NO.80 High School provides us with a platform where individuals can give full play to their strengths，while tap into potentials. Throughout these activities and competitions, we have not only improved writing skills, but also gained a lot in speech techniques, including the ability of adjusting attitudes toward challenges as well as mastering the art of proper stage presence.

I’m honored to have won the second prize in the Regional Final of Beijing Area of the FLTRP Cup! It’s a really challenging but special experience for me since it was the first time that I wrote down my opinions into a long speech and presented it to some judges in person. Through the activity, I have gained the courage to speak aloud my perspectives and express myself in English.
I sincerely appreciate this chance Beijing NO.80 High School provided for me to enter the competition and step out of my comfort zone. The great assistance I received from my English teacher Ada means a lot to me as well. I will learn more from books and enrich my thoughts, also improve my ability to use English as a powerful tool. I’m looking forward to the activity next year!
