赛事简介
“外研社杯” 全国中学生外语素养大赛由北京外国语大学主办、外语教学与研究出版社承办，是教育部公布的面向中小学生的全国性竞赛活动名单（即“竞赛白名单”）中唯一的外语类赛事。大赛立足核心素养培育，构建体系化、多元化竞赛平台，着力培养勇于挑战、兼具国际视野与竞争力的新时代青少年。
在第 22 届赛事中，北京市第八十中学学子踊跃报名、积极备赛。在北京地区决赛及全国总决赛中尽展风采，屡获殊荣，充分展现了扎实的外语能力与优秀的综合素养。
北京地区决赛成绩汇总
在本次大赛北京地区决赛中，我校共有24名学生凭借出色表现斩获一、二、三等奖和优秀奖。同学们在备赛中认真钻研、反复打磨，在赛场上自信表达、从容应对，展现出八十中学子昂扬向上的精神风貌与过硬的语言实力。
全国总决赛再创辉煌
历经层层选拔，我校10名优秀学子成功晋级全国总决赛，在无锡市锡山高级中学搭建的全国赛舞台上大放光彩：

Participating in the FLTRP Cup National English Competition Final was an unforgettable journey. I met so many outstanding and hard‑working competitors from all over the country. Competing alongside these top talents broadened my horizons and let me see my own shortcomings clearly.
This experience is more than just an award. It taught me the importance of persistence and self‑improvement. Although the journey ended with slight regret, it has become a precious motivation for me.

Participating in this national competition is truly an unforgettable honor. First of all, I want to express my deepest gratitude to my teacher. You stayed with me during every practice, helped me improve my logical thinking, and encouraged me whenever I felt unsure. Secondly, this journey brought me to Jiangsu, where I truly experienced its rich cultural atmosphere—from the graceful classical gardens to the warm and welcoming local people. Competing there made me feel both inspired and grounded.
Looking back, what I value most is not the award itself, but the process of growing. I learned how to stay calm under pressure, how to organize my thoughts quickly, and how to express my opinions clearly in English. During the competition, I focused on being myself and speaking from my heart instead of memorizing answers. Participating in the FLTRP Cup National Finals in Wuxi was an extraordinary and rewarding journey. Throughout the contest, I strove to articulate my thoughts with confidence, sincerity and profound insight into traditional Chinese values. Securing the National First Prize stood as a remarkable affirmation of my persistent practice and academic growth.
Witnessing the championship showdown the following day was truly inspiring. The finalists delivered exceptional speeches with rigorous logic, elegant diction and incisive viewpoints, integrating traditional culture with contemporary global vision. Their outstanding performance set a remarkable example for me.
This experience significantly enhanced my public speaking competence and critical thinking skills. The philosophy of benevolence and solidarity has also deeply shaped my values. Moreover, I marveled at Wuxi’s picturesque spring scenery and splendid cultural heritage. This journey combined competition, enlightenment and relaxation, leaving me with precious memories and long-lasting inspiration.

Taking part in this English speech contest has been a meaningful journey for me. From the online exam to interviews, as the difficulty increased step by step, my personal ability and potential were gradually developed.
At the national finals held at Wuxi High School, I met many talented and hard-working competitors from all over the country, who deeply inspired me. I will take this as a new starting point, keep working harder on my English.

My deepest thanks go to Ms. Liu. Her careful guidance in polishing drafts and building my confidence was crucial to my success.
On the way to the competition, I read English articles daily, imitated excellent speeches, and practiced aloud. Despite moments of anxiety, my determination and my teacher’s trust pushed me forward.
This journey gave me more than language skills—confidence in public speaking, logical thinking, and calmness under pressure. Competing with top students made me modest and eager to grow. I no longer fear challenges; I see them as opportunities.
This prize is a new start. English, as a bridge, will help me share Chinese stories globally. I will keep breaking language barriers and promoting cross-cultural understanding.

Receiving the First Prize of the FLTRP Cup National Finals comes as a huge honor and a precious recognition of my years of devotion to English learning. I owe this achievement to my teachers, who patiently polished my language skills and encouraged me to explore cross-cultural perspectives, and my family, who supported my every new attempt even when faced with setbacks. This award is not an end, but a brand new start for me. I'd like to keep improving my language competence and tell Chinese stories to a wider global audience.

Participating in the 22nd FLTRP Cup was an unforgettable memory for me. I felt honored to compete with outstanding peers. I thought about giving up several times, However, I told myself this is what I truly love to make my voice heard. I treasured every chance to improve and challenge myself. Winning the first prize was a recognition of my efforts. It taught me diligence and perseverance. I’ m so grateful for all the help I received. I will keep moving forward and face future challenges bravely.

I walked into the competition thinking it was a stage. A place to present, to express, to arrive at some kind of answer. But by the time I left, it no longer felt like a stage. Instead, it felt like a room that kept expanding. At first, I noticed it in the people. Everyone I met carried a different way of thinking: some were precise and analytical, building arguments layer by layer; some were bold and quick-witted, connecting ideas across contexts. What impressed me wasn’t just their language ability, but the way they used language to shape their thoughts. We spoke about technology and humanity, about wars, about cultural identity, about global challenges that don’t have simple solutions-questions you couldn’t finish answering in two or three minutes. Cheesy as it may sound but genuinely, even after the competition, they stayed with me, unfolding, asking to be reconsidered from new angles.
I realized that what I had prepared before was only ONE way of seeing things. The competition put my knowledge to the test, and more importantly, exposed me to how much more there was to understand.
Looking back, the result itself feels almost secondary. What stays with me is the shift in how I approach ideas: the awareness that every question can be deeper, every answer can be more connected, every perspective can be more open.
Indeed, it’s a strange feeling to walk into something expecting a conclusion, and walk out with more questions than before. But maybe that’s what learning looks like. Not with a final and definite answer, but a space that keeps expanding.

I’m more than grateful to have been given the chance to participate. I sincerely thank my English teacher, Ms. Zhao, who stayed with me through it all and encouraged me no matter what.
